About

The Nepean School of Music (a division of Hummingbird Music Limited) enjoys a large and diverse student base with well over 700 weekly students receiving one-on-one private lessons. We also have an equally diversified staff of over 40 professionals.

Two other divisions within our company work with recording & advancing musicians and artists. Boulder Records manages, publishes and/or is the Record Label for recording artists such as Tammy Raybould, Eric Eggleston, and Junkyard Symphony, while Pebble Studios is our world class recording facility.

Hummingbird Music also operates a successful summer program called JamClinic for young musicians which teaches the musicians performance techniques as well as music industry concepts.

FAQ

Are your piano lessons on keyboards or real pianos?
All of our piano lessons are on real acoustic pianos. Our facilities include over a dozen acoustic pianos, both uprights and grand.

Do you use drums pads or electronic drums for your drum lessons?
No. All of our drum lessons are on professional quality real acoustic SONOR drums.

How many instructors do you have?
Currently we have 40 instructors on staff. Many are University graduates in education and are ARCT (Associate of The Royal Conservatory of Music) certified.

How do you determine which instructor I will receive?
We do our best to match instructor and student based on personality, musical taste, age and availability.

What if the student and instructor don't connect?
In this occasion, based on availability, we would be happy to move the student to a different instructor to maintain the best possible learning experience.
